Every year, the President is requested to declare the first Sunday in September as National Grandparent's Day. It's a special day to honor and appreciate the incredible role that grandparents play in our lives.
But what happens when circumstances make it difficult for grandparents to spend time with their grandkids? In Minnesota, grandparents can seek their own visitation schedule under certain circumstances:
Of course, the court's decision will always prioritize the best interests of the children and ensure that the visitation doesn't interfere with their relationship with their parents.
However, these rights don't apply if the child is subsequently adopted by someone other than a stepparent or grandparent. So, let's cherish the time we have with our grandkids and make every moment count!
